For me, it was really challenging and I've been rewriting parts in my head today, but I knew if I didn't submit it yesterday I never would. Gotta tell you there was a lot more Kahlúa in my cream than usual last night! I love these prompts and challenges though and to get to interact with other writers like this. It is just so much fun even when it's hard! Thank you again for the support!
I am so excited for this prompt! I am going to make another short story though! I don't think I could do an ode or a ballad the justice it so deserves.
Such a beautifully written ballad! The play on words is masterful, this "to restore color to our gray" lit up my entire imagination! Thank you!
All the great stories highlighted this week! Bradley and Annieguile are so talented. I need to go read the other story!
Thank you so much for highlighting my little story of a child's dreams coming to life! I will never get used to anyone calling out my work!
Everyone be sure to enter the giveaway! I have! I'm exciteddddd!
Don't forget to chose a theme! I know I did! I need more people to choose it! Not saying what it is, but try to get it!
I definitely think you should try your hand at a poem for one of these, especially for this one, but I’m for sure intrigued to see what you come up with!
ohhh!!! Thank you so much!! I am excited for the next prompt and loved your entry! As always very compelling!! And hey fellow writers want to put your poetry to the test? Let's join in on Hazel Allen's Poetry Prompt!!! Come On!!! see the instructions on this post...
Thank you for sharing! These have been so much fun to do— and this one really made me think for how to go about it, but I’m so happy with the way it turned out!
Thank you! While it’s poetry oriented there’s nothing wrong with using it as inspiration for a short story too! Though, regardless, I’d love to see whatever you can come up with if
The Coronation
Red hats bob and weave
to a tune by a one hit band
they don’t know they're deceived
too poorly educated to understand
The irony is lost on this small crowd
a song celebrating all they hate
waving their arms, singing aloud
truth be damned this auspicious date
Choosing themselves a vain, vain king
with a rapist and a spy in his court
at coronation they’ll kiss the ring
a fete we wish we could abort
Choosing themselves a vain, vain king
with a sociopath in his court
tonight he breaks all our dear things
a feat we are helpless to abort
Red hats’ dance is frenzied now
evil prime ministers heil their salutes
marionette’s strung from Moscow
brainwashes yet more young recruits
Here he comes, the narcissistic ruler
selling Crypto copies of his crown
here he comes the 21st century Fuhrer
his hubris will burn us all down
Yes! Love it. I'm working on mine about the very same thing. 😉
Thank you! I can't wait to see yours!

It sure is fun! I just posted mine as a restack. I was making changes up until I clicked post! 😂

I will do all three for this! A short story and ode and a ballad. But don't cringe when you see my poetry! Haha
Wow challenge is daunting this week…
Will have to think on this one….
Stay tuned!
Can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Hey, thanks so much! 😊 I’m looking forward to giving this one a try.
Absolutely! I’m sure what you come up with will be fantastic to read!

Love the interaction of these posts. Thank you for the inspiration! Even if I don’t write much poetry.
