Poem: Under the Moonlight
A poem from Leaving the Monochrome, available now for pre-order.
Under the Moonlight
Tonight, there are no stars, only moonlight
As I walk, stepping between trucks and cars.
Gray takes the city, and my mind’s insight–
Ridden by conflict, chained by little bars.Tonight, my destination holds no aim,
As I walk, traveling through my inside.
No clouds above, they’re all in my claim–
Clarity-blocked, no room to decide.Tonight, I find a bench, somewhere to sit.
As I rest, thoughts attempt to clear out.
Maybe it’s okay to process a bit–
To allow room to break this mental drought.Becoming closer to who I should be,
Even if monochrome is all I see.
